Natalia's Dedication

This past Sunday, we had a Child Dedication for Natalia at The Avenue.  We had Landen and Cecilia's last year and really enjoyed the experiance. Are you wondering "what's a child dedication"? Well, here's a definition taken from Mars Hill Church.

Child Dedication is parental recognition of a solemn responsibility and trust - a responsibility to raise your child in the nurture and instruction of the Lord. The Dedication Service provides you, as a parent, an opportunity to make this commitment public before God, your friends, and family.

Luke and I feel the importance to have accountability from our family, friends and church in how we raise our children.  We both love Jesus and desire for all three of our kids to fall in love with Him as well.  It's a choice each person has to make on their own.  Of course we will love and nurture our children no matter what their choice is, but we pray that through our lives they will see why we have chosen to have such a relationship with Jesus.

Frugal Friday - the beginning

Last night, I had an amazing time sipping drinks and catching up with my favorite Diva, Danielle. We were talking about budgets and great deals that I usually post on FB and she suggested I post them on my blog. I thought that would be a great idea b/c I never remember to keep this thing updated and perhaps that will encourage me to do so . . . thus, Frugal Friday has been born! Thanks, Diva!



FRUGAL FRIDAY "Date Night"

Luke and I have always loved the idea of a weekly date night but we have a TIGHT budget! I mean, honestly, a monthly date night seems out of the question sometimes when money is tight and you have 3 kids.

Here's our solution: Date Night Swap!

Find a couple that has kids your kids love playing with. Find a night where you are both typically free. Week 1 & 3- you have a date while the other couple watches all the kids, weeks 2 & 4 is your turn to watch! If there happens to be a 5th week, use it has a hang-out night for the two families!

Skip the weekend date nights.

Sun-Thurs nights, Happy Hour @ The Melting Pot- cheese & chocolate for two will only set you back $16!

Tuesday nights, EastGlen 16 offers $5 movies AND free popcorn if you brng your own bowl!

and my personal favorite, Tequila Harry's Thursday nights $1 margaritas (on the rocks OR frozen) AND 1/2 price apps after 9pm!!!

cold weather blues . . .

Yoooo Gabba Gabba. The kiddos are so sick of being inside, but we're making the best of it with dance parties and indoor games.

Cecilia is 17months! geez. I can't believe how fast she's growing up! She is speaking really well. We can't always understand her, but she is very confident in her speech! My friend Sarah made her this tutu and I am going to try to make a black and red one for her to wear to the UCM games this spring.

We went to Landen's school to have a bday party for DR Seuss. That was so much fun!

Cecilia is pretty wishy-washy about going potty- but she is so excited that she knows where it is. She will show you with great enthusiasm if you ask her where the potty is!

Baby Talia is 5 months old! She's rolling over tummy to back and all giggles! She looks so much like Cecilia did at 5 months :-)
